What students say about me
"Stiamo imparando" or we are learning
This phrase helped my friend and I so much as we traveled to Roma, Firenze, Parma, Lago de Como, and Venezia. After 6 lessons, my friend and I ventured to Italy with what we called “survival Italian”. We learned the basics such as food, drink, buying things, ordering things, manners, and of course “mi dispiace” (I’m sorry) all from Daniela which opened doors for us everywhere we went. The people we talked to were so excited that we were trying to speak Italian, that they helped us along every step of the way. Daniela also gave us insider information for aperitivos, gelato, espresso (both of which if you pay more than 2E you are getting ripped off). My friend Megan and I strongly recommend Daniela for any traveling you may be doing to Italy. She even provided text support to us while in Roma! We love Daniela and Italia!! Thank you so much!

Great first meeting - looking forward to more
I was nervous about my first class but didn't need to be nervous at all - Daniela was a fantastic teacher that instantly made me feel comfortable and ready to work on my rusty Italian. We had a very natural conversation where Daniela made suggestions on grammar and vocabulary, then dived deeper into a few grammar exercises that she picked based on my weaker areas. Primarily I want to be able to have some nice conversations during my upcoming trip to Italy, so this conversational approach was perfect and I look forward to weekly lessons.

"So you want to learn Italian. How can I help you?"
I had taken a group lesson in Italian and I did not feel like I was progressing. Now after just four lessons with a new tutor it feels like I have progressed quite a bit. One of Daniela’s strengths is figuring out what the student knows and then coming up with a plan to get the student where they want to go. That is what we did on my first day with Daniela. In my last lesson (my fourth lesson) we worked on adjectives and some of the prefixes that can be used with them. Previously we have covered verbs (regular and irregular), prepositions and past perfect tense. This may sound like a lot but the more you learn the more things start fitting together. The key is being challenged to understand the rules of the language and then to put those rules into practice by speaking the language with a native speaker. Another strength Daniela uses is her patience. As a student you can feel pressure and anxiety as you make the mistakes that students make and Daniela is very patient in correcting what you are doing and saying. In short, Daniela has the ability to establish a productive and comfortable environment. After an upcoming trip to Florence, Italy I look forward to pursuing more classes."

Patient native speaker
I knew a few words, and Daniela took it from there. I will be much more confident now in my speaking ability and pronunciation. She built off of what I already knew.

Natural Italian speaker, knowing the nuances. I'm a real beginner, and Daniela got me started on reading Italian to make sure that I had the proper accent with the letters. She also gave me distinctions on how to use phrases such as Buonasera vs. Buon Pomeriggio. I'm looking forward to the continuing lessons.

Highly recommend. Daniela is teaching my daugher and me conversational Italian that we will use on a trip to Sicily. She carefully curates the lessons to focus on the types of situations we may encounter and helps us learn the words and phrases to use (and what not to use!). We have learned a lot in just one month. We appreciate her thoughtful approach, encouragement and gentle corrections as we likely mangle the language in our attempts to express ourselves!
